Concept note on my present project

Concept note on my present project

In common parlance, consciousness denotes being awake and responsive to one’s environment: this contrasts with being asleep or being in a coma.
Modern investigations into and discoveries about consciousness are based on psychological statistical studies and case studies of conscious states. These discoveries suggest that the mind is a complex structure derived from various localized functions that are bound together with a unitary awareness
Persistent Vegetative State (PVS) is a condition in which an individual looses the higher cerebral powers of the brain, but maintains sleep-wake cycles with full or partial autonomic functions. Studies comparing PVS with healthy, awake subjects consistently demonstrate an impaired connectivity between the deeper and upper areas of the brain. Electro neurological interpretations characterize this loss of consciousness as a loss of the ability to resolve time.
Are we alive or dead, if the brain is functioning organically but we are comatose?
Along this concept my works will continue which will be executed and installed keeping in mind the site and the space. Digital prints on transparent sheets and light boxes (backlit digital print) will be used in overlapping manner to build up layers in a darkened space, where projected images may also be used if the need arises.
